5 minute lesson
They say practice makes perfect, but how do you know if you are practicing the right way?
At some point in our lives, we have turned to practice to improve our skill or knowledge in some way. In those hours of practicing, what was going on in our brains, and were we really practicing as efficiently as possible? It turns out that becoming better at practicing can have a lot of overlap with teaching us everyday skills like focus and efficiency.
With a few tips on how we can all get better at practicing, and the science of what’s happening in our brains when we take the time to practice the right way. Here’s TED-Ed.
Learning how to practice effectively is super important! Not only will it make the time and energy put into learning a new skill worth it, it will make it a lot less frustrating. Learning new things can be challenging, but by learning to adopt new practicing habits, it can become a lot more fulfilling.
Many of us have struggled to learn some skill or concept, but now, hopefully, we can do it with a little more ease.
TED-Ed’s commitment to creating lessons worth sharing is an extension of TED’s mission of spreading great ideas. Within TED-Ed’s growing library of TED-Ed animations, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed website (ed.ted.com).
